Jack was one of the most extreme cases of abuse we have come across, whose injuries were beyond belief. He and his female mate Jenny were taken by their owners neighbour, tied to a tree and set on fire! This was all because they strayed onto a vegetable patch in search of food! Both donkeys were brought to our sanctuary for treatment, and their foal Missy, who was thankfully spared the abuse. Very sadly the female Jenny succumbed to her injuries after a few days, and we had to say goodbye. Jack has now almost fully recovered, apart from some scars where the hair will never grow back. He is a strong confident donkey who just loves being around people and will often follow our sanctuary staff around the paddock as they work, trying to get involved!
