Get moving for donkeys

Whether you choose to walk, run, cycle, or dance, every step, pedal, or move makes a difference.

Lace up your trainers: You could take on a marathon, half-marathon, triathlon, 10K or 5K – whatever suits your level. Find out everything you need to know about applying for a space at the London Marathon with The Donkey Sanctuary.

Get on your bike: Why not go for a sponsored cycle? Or if you don’t fancy getting on the roads, you could organise a charity cycle at your local gym and get a whole team of spinners involved!

Best foot forward: If running’s not your thing, take on a walking challenge – this could be in a group or even with your dog – raise money while enjoying the great outdoors.

Super schools

Encourage generosity and teamwork through fun and meaningful fundraising activities at school.

Fancy Dress Day: From superheroes to Disney princesses, students can dress as their favourite characters in exchange for a donation.

Uniform-free days: Unite the school in support of a non-uniform day, with a small donation making a big impact.

School fete: Celebrate the end of the school year and raise funds for donkeys. Consider donating a portion of the proceeds to your long-eared friends.

Work(ing) wonders

Your colleagues can be a great source of support – why not get them involved?

Dress-up for donks: Get your workplace involved by hosting a fancy dress or wear your pyjamas to work day. Collect donations and turn the office into a fabulous fashion show.

Bake sale : A classic bake sale is a great way to raise funds for donkeys. Why not add a bit of friendly competition by encouraging your colleagues to whip together their best recipes and see who earns the title of office star baker? Discover our guide to baking for donkeys.

Quiz: Bring your team together for a fun quiz night. Share the proceeds with donkeys and the winners, it’s a great way to raise funds and have a memorable evening.

Push yourself

What better reason to get out of your comfort zone than by raising funds for the donkeys you love!

Push yourself to new heights by participating in a sponsored skydive, or if you’re feeling adventurous, why not challenge yourself to climb to the top of a mountain peak?

You could even get a group of friends involved and conquer it together.

Challenge yourself

Empower yourself and others through fundraising. Discover the joy of mastering a new skill or switch up your routine and benefit donkeys at the same time.

Give it up: Get sponsored to give something up. Whether it’s bidding goodbye to that sneaky chocolate bar or cutting back on social media, encouraging others to sponsor your efforts is a great way to get the funds for donkeys rolling in.

Commit to a 10-week challenge: Why not spread your fundraising out over a long period? You could challenge yourself to learn to play an instrument and hold a concert, or learn to paint and sell your artwork at an exhibition within 10 weeks.

Sponsored silence: Use the power of words to make a statement – by saying absolutely nothing!
